100-Hour Inversions Intensive



Strengthen and stabilize.


Discover and explore the different muscular efforts needed in all over the body to build a strong and stable foundation for inversions. This module is designed to be practitioner-driven, allowing you to experience a deeper understanding of poses via biomechanical exploration.

This learning course serves as a portion of Align&Refine Yoga’s mentorship program which will count as continuing education for current yoga teachers and a developmental program for aspiring yoga teachers.

Course Objectives


Asana
Explore various ways to build skills that physically prepare the body for various inversions.

Anatomy & Movement
Understand and integrate anatomy and movement principles that release and strengthen the body for inversions.

Practice
Learn to build and improve one’s own or another’s practice through principles of sequencing.

Philosophy
Write and reflect on how the Kleshas manifest in one’s own life and how it can improve life off the mat.

Asana Objectives


SKILLS

Strengthen and stabilize muscles in
the shoulder girdle system.

Prepare the shoulders for retraction,
protraction, flexion, extension, and
external rotation.

Harness the strength of gluteal and
hamstring muscles for hip flexion, hip
extension and balance those efforts to
find neutral.

Build overall core awareness (front, side,
and back core) for stability especially
when upside down.

Learn to make adjustments in the air and
create exit strategies from inversions.

Apply skills in inversion poses.

Certification


At the end of each course, trainees who have attended and completed the requirements of the first 5 weekends will receive a certificate of attendance.

Trainees who have completed all weekends (per 100-hour module) will receive a certificate of completion.

Yoga Teachers who have completed all requirements (of the 300-hour program) and any other requirements by Yoga Alliance will be allowed to register themselves as an RYT-500.

Align&Refine Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS)® and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP)®.
